Plasma Pen FAQ'S
Why Fibroblast Plasma Skin Tightening?
As we age, the dermal layer thins and less collagen is produced which causes our skin to wrinkle and sag. The Plasma Pen and our Fibroblasting technique are designed to dramatically repair, reverse, and mitigate these signs of aging.
CANDIDATES: Candidates for treatment are patients with Fitzpatrick skin types I, II, III. Patients with Fitzpatrick skin types IV, V, and VI are at increased risk for pigmentary changes from the treatment and are not good candidates.
RESULTS: Results are almost immediate with visible tightening. Improvements continue for the next three months with continued tightening and improvements in wrinkles. In some cases, more than one session may be desired for further improvements. Results typically last between 3 and 5 years.
TREATMENT: Treatments are done in office using only cooling and topical anesthetic cream. The treatment feels like multiple small pin pricks or a slight burning sensation. Post treatment pain is minimal. Treatment sessions last between 30 and 60 minutes depending on the extent of the areas being treated. Risks of the procedure include redness, swelling, bruising, scabbing for several days, and skin discoloration. It is important to avoid sun in the recovery period.
RECOVERY: “Downtime” is variable but you can expect to be visibly bruised and swollen with scabs for 5-7 days. Each treatment come with a recovery kit with all necessary skin care and precise instructions. The scabs will come off at about a week and at that point most patient are looking presentable for most activities.
Introduction to Plasma Pen Fibroblast Skin Tightening.
Plasma Skin Tightening is a non-surgical cosmetic enhancement designed to shrink the skin using a sterile, disposable probe.
Fibroblasts are the collagen producing cells in the skin. Fibroblast treatment is performed with a device called a plasma pen, which is used to produce plasma waves. The waves are directed as tiny light spots along the wrinkle lines. The tip of the pen never touches the skin (and the needle like attachment is a sterile, disposable, one-time use product).
The pen is held above the skin and a tiny plasma arc connects the tip of the device to the surface of the skin. Using plasma waves, the old collagen is removed by sublimation (evaporation), and Fibroblasts are stimulated to produce new collagen. The targeted skin contracts and is essentially eliminated without any cutting, which results in the tightening and shrinking of the targeted skin.
This advanced procedure helps to revive natural levels of collagen, hyaluronic acid and fibronectin needed for fresh youthful skin. A series of tiny brown spots are strategically placed to attain the desired result. The skin around the dot tightens instantly, pulling the cells closer together.
ADVANTAGES VS. SURGERY
- No cutting of skin
- No stitches required
- Very low risk procedure
- Minimal side effects and far less downtime
- Quick & easy procedure
- No risk of blindness as there is with surgery
- No thinning of the skin
- Significant cost saving

How long will the effect of the Fibroblast-Skin Tightening treatment last?
The results of the Fibroblast-Skin Tightening treatment are permanent and may be visible for years. But we should acknowledge that the aging process is continuous and thus the skin ages every day after the procedure and this cannot be stopped. The results of this method are permanent, but when we talk about mimic facial lines (worry lines) these may recur quickly because muscles are stronger than the skin and consequently the lines recur. The positive effects of treatment will be noticeable immediately after the first treatment, but the final results will be seen after eight weeks. For some, an additional treatment may be required after eight weeks for maximum results. Additionally, there are lifestyle factors that can increase lasting results. Some of these include smoking, alcohol consumption, prolonged sun exposure, and other factors that increase skin aging.
Is Fibroblast-Skin Tightening treatment safe?
The treatment is very safe, as it is a non-surgical procedure. It has a negligible amount of possible side effects and serious complications alike. The procedure is based on the natural stimulation of skin regeneration, so the excesses which may be seen in the world of traditional surgery are not possible.
The Fibroblast-Skin Tightening treatment takes a very short time, with stress on the aftercare, as, in case the client neglects the instructions for aftercare, the treated area may suffer from hyper-pigmentation or scarring.
Are there any possible side effects of Fibroblast-Skin Tightening?
The Fibroblast-Skin Tightening treatment is an exceptionally safe procedure with virtually no side effects or they occur very rarely. Possible side effects are inflammation, scarring or minor change in skin pigmentation, which is very rare. It is highly important for each client to follow the instructions for aftercare closely. Crusts which occur after the treatment are part of the treatment and will fall off after 4–10 days. Swelling after treating the area around the eyes is normal and will disappear after 3–5 days, depending on the client’s sensitivity.
May I use makeup after the Fibroblast-Skin Tightening treatment?
Do not use makeup after the treatment, as it generally is not sterile. First 5–6 days after the treatment, until the crusts fall off, use the antiseptic product and the aftercare cream, applying it softly to the treated area. When the crusts fall off, you may apply some makeup if necessary, as the cream the therapist gives you contains skin powder which covers the crusts and the blush.
Are the results visible immediately after the treatment?
The results are visible immediately after the treatment, So, results are visible immediately, but the end results follow after 3–4 weeks after the treatment.
How many treatments are required for a perfect result?
Usually Fibroblast is 2 sessions treatment. It depends on the state of the clients’ skin and the desired degree of correction. The client is often satisfied after only one treatment, of course if, e.g. the wrinkles are not very deep, but due to the simplicity of the procedure and the affordable price the clients opt for two or even three treatments to achieve a perfect result. The procedure may be repeated after the skin is fully regenerated. Generally 2 sessions are required.
Is the procedure painful?
Fibroblast-Skin Tightening is a NON-invasive procedure with a minimum level of pain. It is virtually painless, as the treated area is numbed before the treatment. After the treatment, the treated area might be slightly reddish and some patients may experience some swelling (only for areas around the eyes). At the site of each spot, a small crust will form. They should not be touched and you should wait for 4–5 days for them to fall off naturally. During the procedure, you may feel some discomfort, not actual pain, depending on the treated area of the face/body.
Is there a possibility of Post-inflammatory hyper-pigmentation?
✓ Yes, there is. SPF (Sun Protection Factor) is of key importance and an essential part of aftercare.
It can be caused by infestation, allergic reactions, mechanical injuries or reactions to medications, phototoxic eruptions, burns, bruising and inflammatory skin diseases from eczema/dermatitis family.
Again, darker skin is more prone to post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.
This type of pigmentation can darken with exposure to UV light and with the use of various chemicals and medications, thus it is highly important to point out to the client that after the treatment direct contact with sun rays (UV radiation) and use of chemical products on the treated area should be avoided.
How to treat hyperpigmentation?
✓ The client can use Pigment-reducing Concentrate with B-Resorcinol which intensively lightens and reduces hyperpigmentation and dark spots. The best protection against worsening hyperpigmentation is to use cream which block hyperpigmentation and contain sun protection SPF of 50 or higher and that protects against UVA and UVB rays.
Is it allowed to peel off the carbon crusts? No, never.
